So few people these days realize that discretion is an art form. One that fell entirely out of practice in these parts this past week, and all because of a little toxin. I don't know whether to be amused or repulsed.

Happy birthday to me. Or at least it would be if my eighteen-year-old cousin didn't keep on harping on about the fact that turning twenty-nine means I'm one year away from being thirty. I think I need a drink.

I'm throwing a little party this coming Saturday-Roz, David, you have to be there. No excuses will be acceptable.

Peter, come within fifty feet of my apartment, and I'll slaughter you.

God, I didn't think I was ever going to get out of there. Thank heavens for excellent legal counsel and Daddy's checkbook.

Did anyone miss me?

I think I'm going to hit a club or two tomorrow night. Have a little fun. Care to join me, Leon?

I need a date for this function a family friend is throwing and all of the tolerable eligible men in LA seem to have been snatched up already. Not that it was a large number to begin with and I've been through most of them already-don't say a word, Peter.

What's a girl to do?

Roz, how much longer are you planning to stay in LA? If it's for an extended period of time, I'm going to have to insist on you moving your ass out of that hotel and into my guest room.

London is so lovely this time of year. If a little too chilly for my California-warmed blood at times. I really should make my way over here more often.

I honestly cannot comprehend what has become of the cleaning services industry lately. Every single maid my parents have hired (believe it or not, I don't actually have one myself. I'm not home enough to warrant one) has turned out to be a thief. Such petty behavior when they're rewarded a decent salary is just pathetic.

I just got back from Palm Springs this afternoon. What a pleasant way to ring in the New Year. I needed to relax and those spa treatments were just what the doctor ordered.

What a wonderful holiday season we've embarked on this year-so many deaths, it's unsettling. I don't think I'll be out and about much over the next several days unless I absolutely have to. God only know who could be next.

So who else has heard about that couple that crashed the presidential dinner party? Honestly, some people will do anything for attention.

Men are pigs. I don't know why I even bother dating some days-particularly with these sons of my mother's friends. They're all the same-entitled playboys who have their tongue in your ear and their hand on your ass within ten minutes of meeting. Pathetic.

I would say it's a funny thing how human life can be so fragile, but I never find myself laughing about it on this particular day. Laughter's reserved for happy moments as far as I am concerned, and this is hardly one of those.

R.I.P Julia, dearest.

Roz, I have a proposition for you.

My parents are throwing one of their parties Friday night and, even though it's going to be mostly their friends, they said I could invite a few guests. So why don't you and David come? Your mother won't be attending, if that makes a difference. She was invited but had to RSVP 'no' for some reason that I'm not entirely sure of.

It could be fun (the evening, if not the party itself, because we could always sneak out to the pool house for a few drinks and some poker if things get too boring).

So a fairly prominent senator who happens to be a reincarnate, albeit one who keeps away from the network to avoid making it publicly known, has been swayed to the side of our little fraction here. There's talk of him backing us financially and, if at all necessary for any reason in the future, politically.

I wonder what persuasive soul could possibly be responsible for that little feat?

For anyone who cares, Miss Palmer's going to be indisposed for the next couple of days while I take care of some business that desperately needs to be seen to. If you need to get in touch, you can always leave a message. Don't be afraid- I won't bite.

So unless someone forgot to mention such a plan to me, I'm left to assume that Camelot's responsible for the break-in that occured at the Agency last night. Does anyone have any thoughts on what their purpose possibly could've been? Were they just looking to see what the Agency has planned in general or are they aware of something that we're in the dark about? I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to know.

Make that we're not the only ones.
